I'm back!

Just finished doing my first ever Fatbike event and a few guys, mostly younger, were shocked when they found out how "old" I was. A few comments of "not too many 50 year olds doing these rides" etc.  Telling them about my two hip replacements put them over the top!

All this got me thinking...I refuse to act my age and I'm loving it. Yeah, not too many people bombing around on a Fatbike at my age. Yes, I have an unhealthy bike fetish (you should see my garage) but it keeps me young.  I have a longboard (skateboard) too. I simply refuse to "get old." All of these thoughts prompted me to rename this blog and pick it up again. I'll also be starting up a new website - to be revealed soon enough!

How do I do this?  I take care of myself with a fitness and healthy living lifestyle.  I eat right, which includes a daily Shakeology (the best meal of the day) and, more recently, a paleo eating lifestyle. Since I've gone Paleo, I no longer take a supplement for my painful right knee and there is no more pain! I'm just eating good, healthy foods and taking a daily multivitamin. Eating healthier costs a little more but I'm weighing it against all of the saved costs: co-pays for Dr. visits no longer necessary, extra supplements, and other meds that are no longer needed. In the end I'm pretty sure that financially it works out in my favor.

If you want to follow along on this ongoing journey, I'm here for you. I can help you get healthy with the Team Beachbody line of workouts and nutritionals. I'm a Beachbody coach and I love what I do and love helping people to a better life.

Please feel free to reach out to me!

End the Trend!

Sadly there is a disturbing trend in the United States. The trend is the growing obese population. Thanks to processed foods and a technological revolution that keeps us from getting "out and about" our percentage of obese people is growing at an alarming rate. Carl Daikeler, CEO and co-founder of Product Partners (parent company of Team Beachbody) has made it a goal of his to end the trend and he's harnessing the power of networking to do it.

Through the Team Beachbody community and coaching network he aims to end obesity and its attendant health problems one person at a time. As a part of the coaching network I will do my part as well. The Team Beachbody community and the coaching network has changed my life for the better and I truly want the same for others. I would like to be there to encourage others on the road to better health physically and financially, if they choose. Notice the phrasing: "if they choose."

If you're going to start a change it comes from making a decision to change. You've got to want it. You've also got to want to make the lifestyle changes that are going to get you to your goals. Many times these changes will be uncomfortable to admit or enact but they will be necessary. That is what prevents people from taking those initial steps, who wants to put themselves in an uncomfortable place on purpose? To get yourself moving in the right direction we should seek out role models or people that have lived those changes and have been through the "not so nice" places to arrive at a very nice place! That is what I'm here for. I've been through many of the programs, I've done the nutrition programs, I've taken Shakeology everyday and have the results to prove it.

Please feel free to join my team. Our support system is second to none and with my help, and the help of all the coaches in our team system, you will achieve your physical and financial goals.
